This print collection was created in 1982, the year Shimizu was the elder monk at Tōdai-ji Temple in Nara.
This is a delightful and profound lithograph collection of the Chinese zodiac by Kōshō Shimizu, renowned for his lighthearted, witty, and free-spirited style in calligraphy, paintings, and ceramics.
As the prints are unframed, you could start with this year's Horse and enjoy framing and changing them out each year.
They have been stored as individual sheets. The margins of the top print (Rat) have some age-related stains (though they should have minimal impact on the printed area. Please see photos 14-16).
The other prints are generally in good condition.
