Vintage Franciscan Ware Apple Pattern Gravy Boat

This is a vintage Franciscan Ware gravy boat in the popular Apple pattern, featuring hand-painted red apples and green leaves on a cream-colored earthenware base.  The piece includes an attached underplate to catch drips, designed with a rustic embossed branch handle.  The circular ink stamp in the center reads FRANCISCAN MADE IN CALIFORNIA. It is intentionally printed upside down relative to the mold registration number, a common characteristic seen on the bottoms of various mid-century Franciscan hollowware pieces.  The bold debossed or stamped number 14211 represents the production batch code or factory mold registration number assigned during manufacturing.  Measurements: approx. 4” tall and 9” long.
