Kuniyoshi Kaneko Lithograph "Marie" 10/50 Hand-Signed Framed

Kuniyoshi Kaneko Lithograph Marie 10/50

■About the Artist
Kuniyoshi Kaneko (1936-2015) was a reclusive printmaker and painter representing Japanese aestheticism and decadent beauty. After studying at Nihon University College of Art, he established his own unique world of fantasy and decadent beauty. He is widely known for his illustrations for Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and his aesthetic depictions of women inspired by Marie Antoinette, as well as his deep connection with the poet Shuji Terayama. Through unique motifs such as Doll, Girl, and Devil, he was a rare artist who consistently pursued a world of Romanesque and decadent beauty throughout his life. Even after his passing in 2015, his auction results continue to increase, and he remains strongly supported by collectors.

This work, Marie, is a lithograph depicting a girl's portrait against a jet-black oval background. The ephemeral yet enchanting figure of the girl is a piece that encapsulates the charm of Kaneko's work. It is a rare piece, edition 10/50, with an original pencil signature (Kuniyoshi Kaneko). It is framed in a high-quality black frame, so it can be displayed immediately upon arrival. We highly recommend this piece to collectors who are drawn to his aesthetic worldview.
