Description
Beautiful vintage apparel fabric with a bold oversized floral print on a rich red ground. Stylized flowers and foliage in navy/blue, ivory, tan and muted green are accented with dotted details and a subtle dark crackle design throughout the background. The fabric has an especially cool, smooth hand with excellent fluid drape. Lightweight but not flimsy, with a fine woven construction. Exact fiber content is unknown; likely a manufactured fiber or blend. Measures approximately 5 yards x 44” wide, providing excellent usable yardage for dresses, skirts, blouses, robes, wide-leg pants and other flowing apparel. Based on the fabric’s width, hand, finish and print, I would estimate this piece to date from approximately the 1970s–1980s, although an exact date is unknown.
