Collectable Vintage Taxco Sterling Silver 925 Cuff Bracelet – JC Mark – 67g

The bracelet is stamped TAXCO / J.C. / 925 / STERLING / HECHO EN MEXICO. The J.C. maker’s mark and this distinctive bead-and-flourish design have been attributed to Jorge “Chato” Castillo, a member of the well-known Castillo silversmith family associated with Taxco. This is a substantial, beautifully constructed piece weighing approximately 67 grams.   Jorge was part of the Castillo family behind Los Castillo, one of the major workshops of Taxco’s 20th-century silver movement. The brothers came out of the circle influenced by William Spratling, who helped launch the modern Mexican silver renaissance.  Good vintage condition with expected age-related surface scratches, patina, and general wear. There is visible wear around the hinge/construction area consistent with age and use.
