Vintage Jonette Jewelry “Man on the Moon” Costume Gold Tone JJ Signed Brooch   In the 1980’s & 1990’s Karl Lagerfeld created a series of  “MAN ON THE MOON” Crystal Star Brooches for Chanel. Of course this led to a myriad of companies making similar broaches for the costume jewelry market.  This is the “JJ” version of the brooch  JJ is the jeweler signature for Jonette Jewelry Company (founded in 1935) who were known for their wide variety of costume jewelry. The JJ trademark was used on their jewelry beginning in 1970. They shuttered in 2006.  The items I sell are between 40-120 years old. They will have signs of wear.
