Hikizuri Geisha Kimono, 80 Years Old, Silk with Crane and Wave Pattern
This is an antique kimono from my grandmother's geisha days, approximately 80 years old, from the Showa 20 era (1945).
She said her patron bought it for her during her geisha days, and it's a high-quality item with five family crests.
*A patron in modern terms is similar to a benefactor.
It's a hikizuri (a kimono worn trailing on the floor), which is rarely worn today, and the hem is padded with cotton, giving it a plump appearance.
The crane pattern is intricately embroidered in places, and it remains beautiful even today.
The lower half of the kimono is double-layered.
This is the type of kimono often seen in historical dramas like Taiga or Ōoku.
My grandmother's family crest is Mitsugashiwa, and it's a high-quality item with five crests.
However, as it was worn for work and is an antique, there are numerous stains and dirt marks.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to such imperfections.
As it is an antique, please consider it for display or as a collectible.
It features an auspicious pattern that is popular even among international buyers.
Original price... it was a very expensive item even 80 years ago.
In today's terms, it would be equivalent to about 1 million yen.
It will no longer be worn, and it has not been cleaned since I received it. It also has wrinkles, so I have set the price low. Please understand.
We plan to ship within the day after payment confirmation.
There is no bag, so the item will be folded and shipped.
