A detailed explanation of the artwork is included.
The design is very interesting and has a wonderful atmosphere, so I would be happy if someone who appreciates it could display it.
It is called Omocha-e (toy pictures).
Children in the Meiji era used to cut out Ukiyo-e prints and play with them. How luxurious!
In the Meiji era, children entered elementary school at the same age as they do now (around 6 years old), and they had to learn 100 hiragana characters. While there are currently 46 hiragana characters, back then, it included variant kana, so they needed to learn more than double the current number. It was difficult to learn because the characters were hard to read and distinguish. It seems there were educational materials like this to help children study in a fun way.
It is full of the modernist worldview of the Meiji and Taisho eras.
I would be happy if someone who likes this style could find it.
