Vintage Chinese Export Sterling Silver Amethyst Enamel Butterfly Ring Size 7 10g

This remarkable vintage Chinese Export ring is beautifully handcrafted in sterling silver and absolutely covered in intricate detail. At the center sits a substantial natural purple amethyst cabochon, cut in an elongated teardrop/shield shape and displaying wonderful natural inclusions that give the stone depth and character.  Surrounding the amethyst is exceptionally detailed openwork silver filigree, creating an ornate architectural setting approximately 3 cm x 3 cm across the top.  But the real magic is along the sides. 💕🦋  Beautiful dimensional butterfly motifs wrap around the shoulders of the ring, their wings decorated in translucent pink, burgundy and white enamel with vivid green enamel accents. Additional turquoise-blue enamel details appear above and below the center stone. Fine twisted-wire borders, scrollwork and mesh-like filigree complete the elaborate Oriental design.  Despite its impressive size, the open filigree construction keeps the ring at a very wearable 10.5 grams.  The interior is stamped 925 along with additional maker/export marks.
