This is a Japanese piece of furniture used to store tea ceremony utensils, tableware, and confectionery containers.
Originally, it was a shelf for storing tea ceremony utensils used in the tea ceremony, but after the late Meiji period, it began to be placed in the tea rooms of ordinary households.
It is characterized by its combination of various drawers and shelves.
Beautifully grained woods such as cedar, paulownia, zelkova, and rosewood are often used.

Some of the handles are coming loose and there are signs of use, but I believe it can still be used.
It is in two tiers and can be disassembled for transport.
