Description
This is a YAMAHA die-cast hoop.
It was originally attached to the snare drum of the YD-700, the top-of-the-line model released in 1971.
The rust on the top side was severe, so I removed as much as possible and used it.
Some areas where the rust was removed may show the copper plating underneath.
While there is some rust and pitting, there are no cracks or warping, and it is in full working condition.
The overtones and loud sound unique to die-cast hoops are addictive once you experience them!
This is a set for 14-inch, 10-lug drums, for both top and bottom.
Each hoop weighed approximately 1100g.
