Vintage Yamasan Japan Ikebana Vase Bowl 202D MCM Blue Green Lava Glaze

Vintage Japanese modernist ikebana vase or flower-arranging bowl by Yamasan Pottery, dating approximately to the 1960s. This sculptural model features an organic curled form with separate openings for arranging flowers and foliage. Its heavily textured, bark-like exterior glaze combines earthy brown, green, gray, and pale blue, while the interior has a smooth deep blue-purple glaze. An unusually compact and architectural example of mid-century Japanese ceramic design. It also displays beautifully as a standalone sculptural object. * Maker: Yamasan * Form: Ikebana vase or bowl * Model marking: 202D * Design number: 2008 * Country: Japan * Era: Circa 1960s * Material: Glazed ceramic or stoneware * Style: Japanese modernist / mid-century modern * Textured lava or bark-effect exterior glaze Good vintage condition with no obvious chips or cracks visible.
