Decorative Silver Tone Metal Hair Comb with Amber Teeth Made in Italy

This piece is a vintage artisan mixed-metal hair comb, combining elements of stamped and etched metal work with a tortoiseshell-patterned base.  The top decorative plate utilizes a striking mix of metals, featuring a textured silver-toned header layered over a copper or brass diagonal band. The teeth are constructed from a classic faux-tortoiseshell celluloid or acetate material.  The metal is decorated using repoussé and chasing or specialized stamping techniques, showcasing intricate, repetitive geometric and crescent patterns. The combination of metals gives it a unique, rustic-meets-refined style that bridges traditional regional metalcraft with mid-20th-century fashion accessory design.  Italian hair accessories from the mid-to-late 20th century frequently featured these beautiful mixed-material constructions, combining highly skilled metal processing from regional smiths with Italy's historic craftsmanship in high-quality hair ornaments.
