Vintage Lord & Taylor floral tapestry handbag, manufactured in West Germany. It is a classic mid-century evening piece, dating towards the 1950’s and reflects the highly popular romantic, Victorian-revival styles of the postwar era. This stunning bag features intricately woven micro-petit point textile featuring multi-colored floral bouquets over a cream background accompanied by an ornate gold-toned metal frame complete with an embossed floral pattern and a classic kiss-lock closure. Complete with a delicate snake-style metal chain handle designed to drop over the shoulder or tuck inside to transform the piece into a clutch. Measurements: 8” across, 5” high, and 1.5” wide at the bottom. Chain is 14”. Excellent vintage condition.
