【Beautiful Condition】Donkoro Bear Wooden Carving Hokkaido Enju Wood Carving Ashoro Town Ornament Rare Vintage Item

This is a Donkoro Bear originally made in Ashoro Town, Hokkaido. It is a rare item as production has now ceased.

The material is Japanese pagoda tree (Enju). Japanese pagoda tree has been valued since ancient times as a wood for warding off evil and for good luck. It is also characterized by its color changing to an amber hue and developing a sheen over time.

This is a very rare, vintage Donkoro Bear. The wood grain is beautifully expressed. It has a generally round-faced appearance. I am selling it because I have accumulated too many wood carvings.
