Vintage Bonnie Boynton Style MCM Brutalist Belt Abalone Inlay Hammered Metal

Overview:  This is a stunning, high-end vintage statement belt from the late 1970s or early 1980s. While it is unsigned, it was sourced with a collection of Bonnie Boynton pieces and bears all the hallmarks of her iconic artisan aesthetic: sculptural metalwork, natural shell inlays, and premium supple leather.  Design Details:  The Buckle: A massive, three-piece articulated Brutalist style buckle with a heavy hammered texture. The center features a large, genuine Abalone (Mother of Pearl) cabochon with incredible iridescent blues, greens, and pinks.  The Leather: Genuine, ultra-soft leather in a vibrant mustard/ochre yellow. The strap is designed to be looped and adjusted through the metal findings.  Closure: Features a secure hook-and-pin closure on the reverse side of the metal plates.  Provenance: Retains an original boutique price sticker of $130.00, indicating its status as a luxury accessory from its era.  Condition:  Good Vintage Condition. The leather is supple with no cracking. The metal shows a rich, authentic patina and some age-related tarnish (rainbow oxidation), which adds to its found object artisan character.
