Vintage Japanese Satsuma Style Figural Divided Relish Tray Metal Handle

Beautiful vintage Japanese divided serving tray featuring colorful hand-painted figural scenes and an ornate metal carrying handle.  The ceramic tray has four divided compartments with scalloped edges, a rich brown background, and detailed figures dressed in traditional clothing. Vibrant shades of blue, red, orange, yellow, and green are accented with raised gold-tone detailing in a Satsuma-inspired style.  The decorative metal handle features an ornate openwork design with an aged brass-tone finish. The underside is stamped “Hand Painted Japan.”  Approximate measurements:  • Just over 9 inches long • Approximately 8 inches tall, including the handle  Good vintage condition with overall crazing, light surface wear, some wear to the painted and gold-tone details, and age-related patina on the metal handle.
