Description
A stunning three-piece antique English porcelain set retailed by Mappin & Webb Ltd, the prestigious London silversmiths and Crown Jewelers since 1775. The set includes a covered sugar bowl with twin rope-twist handles, a fitted lid with a beautifully modeled raised gilt botanical finial, and a matching reticulated (pierced lattice) underplate. Decorated in cobalt blue and gold throughout — intricate dot-and-circle border, fine radiating gold featherwork on the ivory ground, and a sculptural gilded seed pod and leaf motif on the lid. MAPPIN & WEBB LTD stamped clearly on the base. Circa 1880s–1910s. The lid displays light age crazing and there is a small brown spot inside the bowl interior, consistent with honest antique condition. Bowl body and stand are clean with no chips, cracks, or repairs. A wonderful display or collector piece with exceptional British heritage provenance.
