【Rare Item with Tomobako Box】Noh Mask Artisan Morizaki Yuga Creation, Wooden Tengu Mask, Made in Heisei 10 (1998), Natural Hair, Noh Mask

Tengu mask by master Noh mask maker, Yuga Morisaki.
The back is inscribed with Tengu Mask, Heisei 10 (1998), and Made by Yuga in gold pigment, with a clear seal impression.

The surface features a rubbed finish in a vermilion lacquer style, utilizing the natural texture of the wood, creating a soft sheen and a deep, impressive red color.
Depending on the angle of light, the warm vermilion and the calm reddish-brown beautifully shift.
The carving of the eyebrows is sharp, and the metal decorations on the eyes and teeth accentuate the shadows, exuding a dignified presence.
Furthermore, natural hair with a supple sheen and firmness is used for the eyebrows and beard,
each strand flows gracefully, bringing the mask's expression to life.

While structurally sound for practical use in Noh, Kagura, and other stage performances,
it is also a masterpiece of exceptional quality as a display or decorative mask.
The balanced form and powerful craftsmanship, characteristic of Yuga Morisaki, truly express a dynamic force within stillness.
The meticulous work shines through in every detail, from the texture of the wood and finish to the handling of the hair and metal decorations.
