Onigawara are traditional decorative tiles installed at the ends of the ridges of Japanese tiled roofs, serving as talismans for warding off evil and misfortune.
Today, they are used as protective charms or interior decorations, often placed in prominent outdoor locations such as entrances, gardens, or high on walls, facing outwards.
The fierce visage of the demon is believed to repel evil spirits, bringing wishes for household safety, good health, and protection from disasters.
