This is a full-tang knife made of 5cr13mov steel. This steel contains 0.55% carbon, 13% chromium, and is alloyed with molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V). It is similar to Japan's AUS-6 (6A) steel and is a reproduction of the 425M steel that BUCK company used for many years. It offers excellent corrosion resistance and toughness, while also being easy to sharpen and holding its edge well. Furthermore, due to its relatively low cost, it is now widely used in entry-level models by major manufacturers. The reason why it is adopted in so-called EDC (Everyday Carry) models like SOG's Traction, GERBER's Flipper, and Champagne is likely due to its rust resistance and ease of maintenance. The model we are offering this time is a medium-sized knife with a handle and sheath made of impact-resistant ABS resin and nylon. Both the steel and the sheath are made of materials that are resistant to moisture and saltwater, making them ideal for outdoor use, including fishing, and for use in the kitchen. Knives that can be picked up without worrying about seasonings adhering to the steel or handle when cutting ingredients that are seasoned with salt or citrus fruits and vinegared dishes are quite rare. With an HRC hardness of 55-58, it offers sufficient sharpness and the edge retention characteristic of Mo-alloyed steel, while still being easy to resharpen with a household whetstone, achieving an ideal balance. The fact that knife manufacturers often use it for household kitchen knives attests to its high reliability. Its characteristic of bending rather than breaking or chipping when accidentally dropped from a table onto a hard floor is even praised by knife strength tester JOE X in his videos. As always, we will deliver this knife in new condition, sharpened to a razor's edge capable of shaving the fine hairs on your arm using the Swedish sharpening machine TORMEK T-8. The blade will be sharpened at an angle of 18 degrees on one side, for a total of 36 degrees, precisely from heel to tip.
