Description
Original painting by the regional Texas artist Thelma Cardwell-Cale (1932–2020). Based in Pleasanton, Texas, she was a dedicated painter, fine arts educator, and longtime art columnist best known for capturing rustic landscapes and what she called God's Beautiful Side of Everyday. The cardboard backing is held in place with old industrial staples, indicating the frame was pre-fabricated as a standard size. Thelma Cardwell commonly utilized commercially available, ornate vintage frames of this exact era to package her small, atmospheric South Texas oil studies for local galleries and buyers. A few of the staples are missing. Picture is still attached to the frame.
