Antique Late Victorian Edwardian Czech Glass Brooch

Beautiful antique brooch featuring a large faceted amber-brown glass stone set into an ornate brass-tone frame with raised floral and leafy details.  The dramatic elongated stone has wonderful depth and catches the light beautifully. The decorative stamped metalwork has a romantic botanical design characteristic of the late Victorian into Edwardian period.  The brooch has an older-style long pin stem, tube-style hinge and simple catch, supporting an estimated date of approximately 1890–1910.  The stone appears to be Bohemian/Czech glass, though it is unmarked and attribution is based on style and construction.  Measures approximately 2 inches long.
