This is a set of 5 bags, each containing 50 frozen wakasagi (smelt).

These are natural wakasagi raised in Lake Biwa, rich in plankton. They are processed using the ikijime (live-kill) method, where they are rapidly cooled from a live state to below freezing point to lock in their freshness.

◆ How to Use ◆

① As fishing bait!
Wakasagi, belonging to the Osmeridae family, emit a strong, fragrant scent, making them excellent attractants for fishing. They can be used for any predatory fish, such as for ice fishing targeting bottom-dwelling fish, float fishing for eels and conger eels, Taiyō tenya (swordfish rig), barracuda fishing, or as bait for squid fishing using a tairyo-maki (lure wrapping) technique.

② As food for reptiles and large carnivorous fish!
Wakasagi are high in protein and low in fat, and also contain calcium, phosphorus, and minerals. They can be used as a treat for fish-eaters such as arowanas, polypterus, gars, catfish, monitor lizards, snakes, and turtles.
