Refurbished, fully functional SONY TCM-400 monaural cassettecorder

Overview: This is Sony's last monaural tape recorder, and as over 15 years have passed since production ended, repairs are becoming increasingly difficult. We have previously addressed various issues, including low recording levels, but for this unit, we have repaired the pinch roller for the first time, which we had only replaced with good parts before.

Features:
- Double speed mode. You can record for 90 minutes on one side of a 90-minute tape.
- VOR (Voice Operated Recording). When set to High or Low, the motor stops when there is about 5 seconds of silence, and restarts when sound is detected again. Please use in the OFF position under normal circumstances.
- Continuously variable playback speed adjustment
- Tape counter
- External microphone jack
- Cue & Review
- External power jack (3V, EIAJ#1 AC-E30M can be used.)
- Automatic stop at the end of the tape during recording and playback

Repair Details: Please refer to images 5, 6, and 7.

Notes:
- This sale is for the main unit only. Please provide your own AA batteries (2) and recording tape.
- The price has been increased this time due to noticeable hardening of the pinch roller and damage to the pinch roller. We will ignore negotiation requests unless competitors emerge who perform similar improvements and offer lower prices. We will gradually lower the price when we feel like it, but the minimum will be 6000 yen.
- Many people mistake this for a Walkman, but this model is a monaural cassette recorder. When headphones or earphones are connected, sound will be heard in both ears, but it is not stereo. When listening with one ear, any type of earphone (2-pole, 3-pole, or 4-pole) can be used.
- Some people might list this as no noticeable scratches or dirt, but there are indeed scratches. Please refer to image 4.

Packaging and Shipping: Approximately 250g, over 3cm thick. If purchased for 6500 yen or more, it will be shipped via RakuRaku Mercari Bin Compact. If purchased for less than that, it will be shipped via YuYu Mercari Packet Plus.
