This is a listing for a replacement head unit, RP-2224, for the Technics RS-1500U.

This unit was normally used while installed in an RS-1500U main unit until 2024. At that time, both playback and recording were functioning without issues and with good sound quality.

Subsequently, an attempt was made to repair the main unit due to a board failure, but parts were unobtainable, rendering it unrepairable. The main unit was then sold as junk on Mercari (transaction history available). This head unit was removed at that time and has been stored since.

Furthermore, during the repair process at that time, it was inspected by a technician at a specialized shop, who assessed that the head itself is normal.

While there are some minor scuffs on the exterior, the crucial head face shows no noticeable stepped wear or deep grooves. The mirror finish is relatively good, and there is no sense of excessive use. No edge deformation or uneven wear is visible.

However, approximately two years have passed since removal, and current operational status (gap, high-frequency characteristics, azimuth accuracy, etc.) cannot be confirmed as there is no main unit available for testing. Therefore, this item is being sold as-is.
