Amami Sanshin Genuine Tortoiseshell Bachi
Length: 15.9cm
* Approximately 3cm longer than standard bamboo bachi.
This is an essential bachi for Amami Sanshin playing techniques.
While bamboo is the standard material, this one is made from very rare genuine tortoise shell (hon-bekko).
It is presumed to be a custom-made item from a bekko craftsman, as it is not commercially available, and is also recommended for collectors.
The tone and texture, favored by professional shamisen and mandolin players, can be described as one-of-a-kind. This is a masterpiece that should be played with silk strings on the finest neck woods such as Yushi-gi or ebony.
While there are scratches from use, there are no chips on the tip, and it can still be used. Due to the shape resulting in poor yield, ordering a new one would cost over 10,000 yen.
Notes: Please carefully examine the photos and text before considering your purchase, as there may be overlooked scratches. Those seeking shop-level quality or who are sensitive to minor imperfections should refrain from purchasing.
