Description
Recently purchased on Mercari.
It was too large for my home, so I'm offering this wonderful item to someone else.
Great for dishes like Chikuzenni!

↓Excerpt from the previous seller's message:
My mother purchased this at Aritsugu in Kyoto several decades ago and used it with care. As it is a used item, please only purchase if you understand this.

Although it has the character 上 (Jō - meaning upper or superior) engraved on it, its bottom is thicker than a standard yukihira pan, and it was apparently made by only a limited number of craftsmen.
Currently, the craftsmen who can make the 上 type have disappeared, so they are now made as 特製 (Tokusei - meaning special).

Therefore, you cannot purchase the 上 type even at the store. I believe this is a very rare item.

It has the previous owner's name engraved on it.

Size: Diameter 24cm, Depth 10.6cm
The 特製 (Tokusei) type is sold for 36,850 yen.

Since receiving it, I have removed some of the blackness with vinegar and cleaned it up a bit.
If you have a larger pot, you might be able to clean it further by soaking it and boiling it with vinegar or other solutions!
