Please be careful about watering during the summer months ????????

Mimosa is a plant of the Acacia genus in the legume family, native to southeastern Australia. When fully grown, it can reach heights of 5 to 10 meters and blooms with small, clustered yellow flowers from March to April. Its beautiful silvery-green leaves can be enjoyed year-round.
While widely cultivated as a garden tree, it is also popular as a cut flower. In Italy, there is a custom on March 8th, Women's Day, for men to give mimosa flowers to the women they are close to.

Planting
Since mimosa grows very tall, it is more suitable for planting directly in the ground rather than in pots or planters. The best time to plant is from April to September. Purchase a commercially available seedling and plant it. Transplanting after planting is difficult, so it is recommended to carefully consider the planting location before deciding.
Location
Mimosa loves sunlight. Insufficient sunlight can make it difficult for the plant to bloom, so choose a sunny spot when planting. Strong winds can break the branches, so try to select a location that is as sheltered from the wind as possible.

Fertilizer
Mimosa roots, being part of the legume family, host bacteria that absorb nitrogen. Therefore, fertilizer containing nitrogen is not necessary. Fertilizer is generally needed after flowering. Once the flowers have finished blooming, apply Plantia Fertilizer for Flowers, Vegetables, and Fruits, which provides sustained fertilizer effects for 3-4 months.

Pruning and Shaping
Mimosa grows vigorously and can exceed 5 meters in height. To maintain its shape, prune back the branches that have grown after flowering and thin out crowded branches. Also, because mimosa branches are thin, if they grow too long, they may break in the wind. For this reason, pruning after flowering is very important.

Pruning should be completed by July at the latest. Flower buds for the following year begin to form from August onwards. If you prune after the flower buds have formed, it will be difficult for the plant to bloom the following year.
