This is a Mitutoyo double spherical micrometer.
The homepage stated that double spherical micrometers are suitable for measuring the thickness of pipes.
It belonged to my grandfather, who loved tools, and I found it while cleaning out his shed.
I believe it is likely unused or close to it.
However, although I have cleaned the box, it shows some signs of age.
According to the Orange Book,
BMD-75W (Manufacturer Code: 115-217) has a measuring range of 50-75, and BMD-50 (Manufacturer Code: 115-216) has a measuring range of 25-50.
