This village rug from Azerbaijan, located on the Caspian Sea coast, features a simple yet striking design with a natural beige field and geometric Gul motifs in navy blue and wine red.

The understated colors characteristic of the Caucasus region, combined with traditional patterns from the Kazak area, create a unique charm that sets it apart from the often more elaborate designs of other tribal rugs. Despite its soft texture and thin profile, it's a manageable accent rug that would also look great displayed on a wall.

This vintage rug is 55 years old. It appears to have originally been used as a cushion cover and is in good condition with no noticeable stains or damage, and no visible repairs. The pile is short, giving it a smooth and pleasant feel.

Occasionally, you may find nail marks from the drying process after cleaning, but these will naturally blend in with use.

Finally, please note that wool rugs have a characteristic scent. Measurements are taken from the center of the rug.
