Description
Smoketree Seedling 'Velvet Cloak'
3-inch (9cm) pot, 1 seedling
'Velvet Cloak' is a popular red-flowering variety of smoketree. In early summer, it becomes covered in cotton candy-like fuzz, truly living up to its name as a smoke tree. It can also be used as cut flowers. 'Velvet Cloak' has small leaves; the new leaves are purple and maintain a beautiful deep purple color even in midsummer. They later change to a chic green. The flowers are reddish-purple to brownish-beige. It's compact, making it recommended for container planting as well.
??Planting??
After planting, water thoroughly. It takes about a month for the roots to establish, so ensure the soil does not dry out. For ground planting, watering is not necessary once the roots have taken hold.
Shipping will be via 4th class mail for plant seedlings.
