Vintage Kakuchabudai Folding Table 122cm Width One-Piece Top innocence Low Table

【Beautiful condition for its age】

This is a chabudai (low dining table) from the late Showa period?
The tabletop is a single piece of Tochibox wood, not a veneer.
It's a wonderful piece with a wiped-lacquer finish.

----

It has been in the Mongoru residence for about 5 years.
However, the magnificent and luxurious feel of the wiped lacquer and tiger grain didn't quite suit the Mongoru residence, so it was only used twice and then stored.

The height is close to modern low tables.
If you eat with a teacup in hand, it's a bit tall unless you use a zabuton (cushion).
The height feels modern, so I suspect it's not very old, perhaps from the end of the Showa period?

I love that it doesn't use metal fittings. ?

Overall, it's shiny and I think it's in good condition, but if you inspect it closely, there are indeed various imperfections! I believe they won't affect its use.

No wobbling. ☆

Please understand that the following are likely present from when I originally acquired it.
*Not all are visible in the photos.
(This doesn't mean it's actually dirty.)

★There are scuff marks and scratches on the legs.
★There are dents and other marks on the corners of the tabletop.
★There is a crack between E and F on the tabletop (believed to not affect use).
★There is a crack on the side of tabletop A (believed to not affect use).
★Around E and F on the tabletop, there are some speckled areas (possibly areas where the lacquer didn't adhere?).
★There is a large black mark on B.
★Around E, there is a mark that looks like a cup stain.
★There are some scuff marks on the tabletop (marks on the surface of the lacquer that don't reach the wood).
★There are white dots on the cut edge of the wood on the underside.
★The tabletop has a slight warp!!
(The center sags just a little.)
★The retaining board for spreading the legs is tight and stiff.
When folded, the legs fit snugly and don't flap around. (^^)
