The surface has been buffed to a glossy finish.
Compared to unbuffed finishes, this finish is more resistant to rust.
A new, unused handle has been newly attached.
While takohiki knives with a rounded tip are common, takohiki knives processed into a kiritsuke style are rare and make this a unique piece.
