Sanno Sangyo is a company that has been processing and selling Yakusugi products since its establishment in 1972.
Since our founding, we have consistently focused on adding value to Yakusugi, and have evolved numerous products, including building materials, furniture, Buddhist altars, gift items, and crafts, to meet the demands of the times.
In our own factory, with experienced craftsmen, we do not mass-produce, but create high-quality, lovingly made products.
Our factory is equipped with a sawmill, allowing us to process logs from lumbering to product creation.
Furthermore, as production is done by hand by our craftsmen, we can create intricate products such as artworks, Buddhist altars, Shinto altars, and furniture.
We are also challenging ourselves with world-first initiatives utilizing Yakusugi, such as the development of Yakusugi watches.
Our product manufacturing policy is creating products that make Yakusugi happy.
The stumps left after Yakusugi logging, and trees felled by typhoons, are called domaiboku (buried wood).
These are Yakusugi that have already reached the end of their lifespan. We utilize domaiboku to create 100% of our products, from seedlings, logs, boards, small pieces, bark, wood powder, to ash.
We pay respect to Yakusugi that have survived over a thousand years of history, and we consider how to create products that will allow these Yakusugi, which have ended their lives, to be utilized and kept alive by human hands for another thousand years.
Loving Yakusugi, utilizing (making use of) Yakusugi. This is Sanno Sangyo's approach to product manufacturing.
