Photo 9 shows the commutator part of the armature; the area not contacted by the carbon brush is approximately 21.8 mm. The area contacted by the carbon brush is approximately 21.55 mm. This indicates wear of about 0.25 mm in diameter. Photo 10 shows the remaining carbon brush length is 14.0 mm. New is 15.8 mm, so there is about 1.8 mm of wear. Photo 11 shows disassembly, cleaning, and grease replacement. Photo 12 shows genuine Makita hammer grease. Operation has been confirmed for a short period. Drill mode forward and reverse. Hammer drill mode forward and reverse. Interlocking block and drilling confirmed. As this is a used item, there are scratches, dirt, rust, and attached substances.
