Crutch Shopping Savior Daiso Foldable Car Hook Mounting Kit

I found shopping to be the biggest challenge during my time on crutches.
I couldn't carry shopping baskets from supermarkets or convenience stores.
When I tried to use a shopping cart, my crutches got in the way.
I thought many people must be struggling with this, so I'm offering an attachment kit.
(Crutches and shopping basket not included.)

This is my first time using Mercari.
I want to make things even a little bit easier for those who are using crutches,
which is why I'm sharing this.

Therefore, I will also provide the materials and instructions for modification.

What you'll need (available at home improvement stores):
① Daiso Foldable Car Hook... 1 pc x ¥110
② M5 Stainless Steel Fully Threaded Bolt 285mm... 1 pc x ¥298
(Please cut to 155mm)
③ M5 Stainless Steel Wing Nut... 2 pcs x ¥178
④ M5 Stainless Steel Washer... 2 pcs x ¥22
⑤ E-ring... 2 pcs x ¥0 (already owned)

Hook Modification:
I used a 5.5mm drill bit, but a 6.0mm bit should also work.
As long as the bolt can pass through, it's fine!
*Instead of drilling with a large bit right away, it's better to drill pilot holes from both sides with a smaller bit.
Then, align the hook with your crutches, insert the bolt, and tighten with the wing nut.

This time, I used wing nuts so that even those without tools can attach it.
I'm also adding a locking nut on one side, so you can tighten it from just one side.

I wondered if this hook was strong enough.
It says a load capacity of 7kg, but hmm...
I don't think I'll ever buy 7 liters of water, but
just in case, I decided to reinforce it!
So,

I inserted an E-ring into the rotating shaft of the hook.
It would be great if the manufacturer could incorporate measures to prevent it from falling out.

And, ta-da! It's complete.
I was also able to hang a sturdy RING STAR Super Bucket that I use for camping.

And a happy surprise:
The crutches can be combined!
They can be bundled together and stood up!
