What is the ancient Japanese practice of Yoshyuku (pre-celebration)?
It is a method of attracting the realization of dreams by joyfully anticipating and celebrating a future where one's dreams have already come true.
This way of making dreams come true, pre-celebration, is called Yoshyuku.

In fact, Japanese people have been practicing Yoshyuku since ancient times.
Cherry blossom viewing, which is still loved by Japanese people today, is said to be one form of Yoshyuku to pray for a bountiful harvest and fertility in autumn.
By seeing the spring cherry blossoms as rice in bloom and joyfully celebrating with friends while drinking sake, they sought to attract their wishes.

Explanation of origami cranes↓
In the Edo period, paper production increased after 1700, and origami became popular among common people.
Initially, origami was used for documents and certificates, but later, origami cranes began to be folded as children's play, leading to the creation of senbazuru (thousand cranes).
As it is said that turtles live for ten thousand years, cranes for a thousand, the crane is known as a symbol of longevity.
The crane referred to here is the red-crowned crane (tanchozuru), which has a red marking on its head. Its lifespan is about 20 to 30 years, and it can live up to 50 years in captivity.

In Japan, cranes have long been considered auspicious birds.
It is said that origami cranes have been folded since ancient times due to their good fortune.
Senbazuru, made of a thousand auspicious cranes, was also considered a sign of good things to come.
By the way, the number thousand in senbazuru means many, so it doesn't have to be exactly a thousand.
