Pre-war Indigo Dyed Sashiko Firefighter / Fire Brigade Helmet - Men's M Size Approx.

This is a Japanese ninja helmet.
By covering your mouth and wearing it, you can become popular with children due to its ninja-like appearance! (^^)

In reality, it is a pre-war fire helmet made of indigo-dyed sashiko fabric.
It was used in an era when fire-resistant synthetic fibers were not available.
Cotton sashiko absorbs a lot of water, so wearing it would enhance fire resistance at a fire scene.

It has a diameter of approximately 19cm, making the head circumference 59cm.
Considering it's not a perfect circle but slightly oval, it gives the impression of a men's M size.

It was partially burned during an air raid and has been repaired.
It has also been reinforced and modified several times, including the addition of a metal plate.
The buttons that were inside will also be included.

How about using it as a disaster preparedness item and interior decoration, as a piece for remaking, or as a historical document?


It was stored at home and was actually used until around the post-war period.

It was used for a short skit a long time ago and has been stored in a box since then.
When taken out for the play, the burnt belt crumbled, so it was quickly remade with repair fabric that was stored with it.
Please note that the belt is not made of the original fabric, and the stitching is simple. The metal fittings are original.


There are signs of use and age.
