This is a very rare vase (flower base) from the SEYEI Pottery Majolica series, manufactured in the 1970s.
The motif is inspired by the cave paintings of the Lascaux Caves in France, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with lively depictions of animals rendered in a unique style.
It is characterized by its green and brown hues.
The beautifully rounded, asymmetrical form is exquisite, a wonderful design that fuses the retro sensibilities and artistry of the era.

The scuffs on the bottom appear to have been present from the beginning.
