[Product Description]

Oshima Tsumugi is known as the Western Yokozuna in contrast to Yuki Tsumugi as the Eastern Yokozuna among Tsumugi silks. The pleasant rustling sound of the fabric and the light feel of the hem. It's a kimono that can be worn like a suit, is resistant to rain, and doesn't wrinkle easily. It's a comfortable and stylish kimono made with meticulous kasuri (patterned thread) alignment and weaving techniques. That is Oshima Tsumugi.

Oshima Tsumugi is a pre-dyed woven fabric. Pre-dyed threads have impurities removed, making them denser and stronger. Furthermore, mud-dyed Oshima Tsumugi undergoes a dyeing process involving Sharinbai (a type of tree) and mud for as many as 120 times, which is why it is said to have the highest color fastness among plant-based dyes.

[Condition]

This is an unused item with basting threads still attached.
The lining of the kimono is a navy cotton fabric.
The lining of the haori is pure silk fabric.
The fabric is a non-glossy tsumugi weave.
