Working Lucite/Brass Sunburst Art Deco Vintage New Haven Compensated Desk Clock
New Haven
New Haven Compensated Desk Clock, likely from the late 1930s to the 1940s. The Compensated label refers to a temperature-compensated hairspring, which was a major selling point for New Haven's more accurate manual-wind timepieces of that era. The light gold/pale peach sunburst (or radiated) texture on the face and the Lucite/acrylic stand give it a fantastic Art Deco/Mid-Century Modern MCM aesthetic. Neat little clock. NOTE: it ticks as it runs - so if you don't find gently ticking clocks soothing, probably not the one for you :-) Patina and wear consistent with age. Please see photos. There's a small scratch in the lucite at the top.
