Vintage Benrus 14K Gold and Diamonds Ladies Wrist Watch, White Gold, Art Deco

Beautiful late-vintage Benrus watch with 14K white gold case and 12 tiny diamonds around front design. The watch has a cool, elegant, ladylike and eye-catching design. The style is very classic with just a bit of sparkle when the wrist moves as the light catches the diamonds. Two raised hearts face the 12 and 6 positions from the case. The band is by Speidel USA. The band is stretchy and measures from 75mm to 95mm when stretched. The watch winds up and keeps time. Stamped “Benrus 14K” on back of case. Watch face marked “Villereuse 17 jewels Incabloc Swiss”. Classic font numbers of 12, 3, 6 and 9 with lines demarcating the rest of the hours. Has an hour and minute hand.   Benrus made a variety of accessible watches that ranged from classy and affordable pieces for the masses that were plated in precious metals to full gold and platinum pieces with precious stones (like this one). Benrus was started by three Romanian brothers in the 1920’s. Their watches have been worn by stars and presidents. When public aviation took off, they became the official watch-makers to the pilots.
