Vintage American flag lapel pin featuring the 49-star configuration — one of the rarest and most short-lived versions of the U.S. flag, official for just one year from July 4, 1959 to July 3, 1960, following Alaska’s admission to statehood. Gold-tone metal with cloisonné-style enamel: deep blue canton with very detailed raised gold stars, bright red and cream stripes. Standard butterfly clutch back. Measures approximately .75” wide.
