Further Price Reduction!! Rare Mint Condition ✨ Not Released on DVD 『Tabloid』 Complete 4-Volume Set VHS Takako Tokiwa

Price reduced from 15,000 yen to 8,000 yen!!

This is a set of 4 VHS tapes from the Fuji TV drama Tabloid, starring Takako Tokiwa in her first leading role.
It appears to be a former rental item, though I don't recall when I acquired it.
I do remember being engrossed in it because GLAY performed the theme song.
Hiroyuki Sanada, who is currently gaining attention for the Emmy Awards, also appears in this drama.
I no longer have a VCR to test it, so I cannot confirm its operation.
Please understand that returns are not accepted to prevent tampering.

The following description is borrowed from a similar product listing. m(_ _)m

The cast is incredibly star-studded when you look at it now!!

Despite being a popular work at the time, it has never been released on DVD (was it really too taboo-breaking?) and it's unlikely to be released on any format in the future.
For those who have been searching for this opportunity, collectors, how about this chance?

Synopsis

Tabloid is a Japanese television drama series that aired on Fuji TV every Wednesday from 9:00 PM to 9:54 PM, from October 14 to December 16, 1998. It was Takako Tokiwa's first starring role in a Fuji TV production.

Saki, a reporter at the major newspaper Chuo Shimbun, is demoted to the tabloid newspaper Yukan Top, a subsidiary, due to a minor mistake. She is assigned to follow a younger but enthusiastic contract reporter, Kurumi, as an apprentice, and they set out to investigate rumors about an idol talent's photobook release. Kurumi, who believes Tabloid papers are all about selling stories! and Saki, who exclaims A top story about a shocking nude photo shoot!, clash with each other as rivals.

In episode 4, the Techno Wave 100 building in Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama City, is used as the headquarters of a credit card company, where Kurumi and others investigate the leak of a blacklist. In reality, in 2004, a customer information leak incident occurred from the credit card division of Cosmo Oil, which was located in the same building.

When the drama was rebroadcast in 2002, episode 3 could not be aired due to the arrest of Takashi Nishina, who appeared in it. This episode was skipped, and the broadcast was titled Masterpiece Selection.
