Tsuiki Shippo (Hammered Cloisonné)
Tsuiki Shippo is a technique where the surface of the base metal is hammered to create a three-dimensional pattern, and then cloisonné enamel is applied to those areas and fired.
It was invented in 1928 (Showa 3) by Yoshichika Ando, the head of the Ando Cloisonné Store's Tokyo branch.
According to records, it took two years to put into practical use and produce products, making it a relatively new technique at the time.
