Vintage Red Leather Kiss-Lock Purse from Simpson's Luggage and Furs, Vermont

This red leather kiss-lock purse is a vintage item from Simpson's Luggage and Furs, a historic luxury retailer that was a staple of the Church Street shopping district in Burlington, Vermont. It has an attached coin purse.   Simpson's was well-known in northern Vermont for its high-end fur department and luxury travel goods.  The store was famous for its in-house furriers who custom-made fur coats and accessories. Having a garment or accessory with the Simpson's label was considered a local status symbol.
