Filled with detailed historical information, black-and-white photographs and illustrations documenting early American locomotives, railroad companies, builders and technological development. A great addition to any railroad history, steam locomotive or railroadiana collection.  Condition: Dust jacket is in poor condition with heavy tears, chips, creases, tape residue and significant edge wear. Hardcover boards have moderate shelf wear with heavy damage along the bottom edge, including loss of the cloth covering that exposes portions of the binding (see photos). Interior pages are clean, complete and securely bound with normal age-related toning. No missing pages were noted.  Please review all photos for full condition details and overall appearance.
