This is a selected instrument by Koichi Hamanaka, former principal clarinetist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra.
Unlike current models, this instrument uses grenadilla from an earlier period when the material was of superior quality.
Compared to the current R13, it has a denser grain and produces a very mellow tone.
