Striking vintage Mexican sterling silver band ring featuring a continuous design of stylized birds against a dark oxidized background. The raised polished silver birds create a beautiful contrast with the recessed blackened areas. The interior is clearly hallmarked TAXCO, 925, MEXICO with a stylized maker’s mark that appears to read UPC, along with a separate Eagle 3 hallmark. The Mexican eagle hallmark system was introduced in the mid-20th century and the number 3 is associated with Taxco. This style of hallmark was used before the eagle system was replaced around 1979, supporting a vintage mid-20th-century dating.
